for Post-Traumatic Healing

Ultimately the effects of trauma on the body, mind, and spirit lead to diminished health and wellness; tremendously impacting families and entire communities. This is where the The Cory Johnson Program aids in helping the community heal.

The Cory Johnson Program for Post-Traumatic Healing, is named in memory of a young church member who was killed in a shooting in 2010.

Cory Johnson was a promising twenty-seven-year-old father of two, the son of a vibrant immigrant family from Trinidad and Tobago.

With his dazzling smile and keen intellect, Cory was set to thrive in our community, and his family had invested their highest hopes in him. His murder was never solved, and his family joined countless others struggling to heal. The Cory Johnson Program for Post-Traumatic Healing is a community-driven response to the challenges of violence and trauma, demonstrating the church’s commitment to fostering healing and resilience among its members and the broader community.
